Standing for Peace-- Refusing to Quit
Alliance for Peace and Justice; and Student Action Network
Join us on Friday July 18 at Toomer's Corner-- 5-6pm. This gathering, on the 3rd Friday of each month, will be one of many across the country that demands a stop to the war in Iraq.

As we yearn for peace, we are painfully aware that our nation waged a pre-emptive, unnecessary, illegal, immoral war on another country. Many thousands are dead, injured, suffering and fleeing, because of us.

Feel free to bring your own appropriate sign, or use one of ours. You can purchase posterboard across the street at J&M Bookstore across the street from Toomer's Corner.

Peace is hard work. Stand with others. Hope to see you there!

Iraq Moratorium - South Park - SF
Iraq Moratorium Committee - SF
We'll be tabling for the Iraq Moratorium and to get the word out
about the intense role played by the America's Army videogame in the South Park multimedia neighborhood of its prime contractor - the Ubisoft Corporation - and getting the word out about the upcoming Hiroshima Day action at Ubisoft's doorstep and the kickoff of the America's Army campaign. We are
calling on the contractors of the game
to break their contracts with the US Army.

America's Army is designed to recruit 13 year olds into the army when they turn 17, in violation of the U.N. Optional Protocol. 4 out of 100 soldiers heading to Iraq say that America's Army was the main factor that convinced them to enlist.

A 2004 Army survey found that nearly a third of young Americans ages 16 to 24 had some contact with the game in the previous six months.

We've had great success at reaching commuters on each Iraq Moratorium day, engaging them in conversation about the need to end the U.S. occupation of Iraq and/or asking them to take the pledge and take action against the war.

This effort requires two people per station (or four where there is also a bus depot) to distribute leaflets and ribbons between 7:30 and 9:00 a.m. Wear your 'Troops Home Now!' tee-shirts if you have them.

Let us know if you can leaflet a station near you. For stations from Redwood City to San Jose, please call Elaine Elbizri of the MoveOn District 14 Council or use the contact form here.

IMPROBABLE COLLAPSE - Free Movie Night
In keeping with the theme of bringing to the public documentaries that would not otherwise be shown at “a theater near you”, this one is apt to illicit discussion. Come view the documentary and discuss your knowledge and opinions with others.

The “911 Commission Report” DID NOT investigate or discuss the collapse of building 7. That building was not hit by any airliner. Many educated Americans feel they have unanswered questions. Most Americans don’t believe the official story.

Remember, what transpired on 911 has affected this country in numerous ways most obvious the invasion of Iraq and loss of 4113 service men and women. The investigation of 911 will remain as pertinent to US history as the bombing of Pearl Harbor is.

IMPROBABLE COLLAPSE ***Free Movie***

The Demolition of our Republic

The puzzling collapse of the
Twin Towers and WTC Building 7

This Documentary examines the circumstances surrounding the collapse of the World Trade Center buildings.
Much of the evidence shown opposes the view held by the 9/11 commission and the current administration.
Experts in physics, engineering and demolition, as well as eye witnesses refute the possibility that the planes could have knocked the 3 buildings down.

Be a skeptic, but come view this documentary and bring your opinion for discussion.

All are welcome.

Stop the blockade of Iran
We are encouraging people to e-mail their senators and representative and tell them that it is time to stop threatening Iran. Go to www.11hour4peace.org. Click on the "Special Action Page" hyperlink, in order to generate the e-mail.

Background: Legislation currently working its way through congress (H. Con. Res. 362) calls for an economic blockade of Iran. It is very difficult to see how this legislation could be enforced without direct military confrontation with Iran. [More info,_Contact,_Updates,_Comments_and_Reports]
