Reports, Updates, Comments
We have held vigils here in Jackson for almost a year now. Locally, I think our point has been made. Some of us are feeling that the emphasis now should be on much larger and more frequent major protests in cities with media that will cover or at least mention them. We remember Vietnam and that the protests eventually reached a critical mass and became so frequent that they simply could not be ignored by anybody. We are very distressed that the occupation of Iraq and accountabillity for its perpetrators seem to be falling completely off the radar of the media and are being almost totally eclipsed by the economy as an issue in the upcoming election and are seeking ways to call attention to this issue in bigger ways.
