Neighborhood Peace Vigil. (Everybody welcome). Rain or shine. We have candles and signs for you, but you are welcome to bring your own as well. One issue focus--end the war in Iraq--support our troops and the Iraqi people by ending the war now. (Relating the cost of the war to the Federal, State, and City budget deficits is still part of our single issue focus). Cookies will be served.

Our May peace vigil came at the tail end of a rare San Francisco heat wave. Those who swelter in other parts of the country may laugh, but the temperature here reached into the 90's. Our early evening vigil was very comfortable. We counted 19 attendees. Although our numbers have not grown as big as we would like, and do not reflect the nation’s 70% opposition to the war, we are always encouraged by the new faces at our vigil.
We brought a selection of anti-war and peace songs (contact us if you would like a copy of our playlist). Passing motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians were again very supportive.
