"Eyes Wide Open - – Beyond Fear & Toward Hope." Saturday, May 17. Eyes Wide Open, the American Friends Service Committee’s widely-acclaimed exhibition on the human cost of the Iraq War, features a pair of boots honoring each U.S. military casualty, a field of shoes and a Wall of Remembrance to memorialize the Iraqis killed in the conflict, and a multimedia display exploring the history, cost and consequences of the war. Also displayed are shoes and slippers representing the tens of thousands of innocent children and civilians killed in the Iraq war.
This is a silent vigil to honor our war dead and their families; however, at 12 noon and at 3 pm, we will read the names, ranks, ages, and hometowns of Wisconsin’s war fatalities
